How to earn points

For players who finish in the money, points will be awarded using a formula based on the GPI points rankings.

For players who finish outside of the money, points are awarded at the rate of 20% the value of the min-cash points.

The PokerStars Live League is a Leader Board competition where players earn points by participating in eligible events. Players can win cash prizes, tournament entries and a chance to become a PokerStars Team Pro based on their League rankings.

You can participate by playing in eligible PokerStars Live events and earning points based on your rankings.

We use an algorithm based on the GPI rankings calculator (with some minor changes). Points are awarded based on three factors: buy-in, number of entries and a player’s finishing position in the tournament.

There are three Leader Board tiers:

  • Low Buy-In: Smaller buy-ins for accessible competition, e.g. PokerStars Cup events and regular side events at PS Opens with buy-ins of up to €999.
  • Medium Buy-In: For players competing in mid-stakes events, e.g. PokerStars Opens, Open high rollers with buy-ins from €1,000 to €4,999.
  • High Buy-In: For high-stakes players with larger buy-ins, e.g. EPT Main Events, EPT High Roller and Super High Roller events with buy-ins of €5,000 or more.

No, you earn points based on your finishing position. Even if you don’t cash, you will still accumulate Leader Board points at 20% the rate of the min cash. For example, if the first player to min cash gets 50 points, all players who did not cash will get 10 points.

Prizes include:

  • Tournament entries to major PokerStars Live events for the top three players in each tier (total value of all prizes is €150,700).
  • A chance to audition for a PokerStars Team Pro contract (worth €100,000) for the top 30 players.

Yes. Anyone eligible to participate in PokerStars Live events can win any of the prizes on offer.

At the end of the PokerStars Live League, the top 10 finishers from each of the three tiers get a chance to audition for a PokerStars Team Pro contract. A panel made up of PokerStars staff will evaluate the contenders based on their performance, personality and ability to engage with the poker community.

Yes. Anyone eligible to participate in PokerStars live events can win any of the prizes, including players from the USA, Russia, Australia, Netherlands, etc.

No. Tournament tickets will only be available as tournament buy-ins, allowing the winner and runners up to play specified PokerStars Live events in 2026. Any cash won from those tournament buy-ins will be paid as cash or via bank transfer.

No, the value of the prizes won is covered by PokerStars and there will be no deductions from prize pools or additional rake/registration fees.

You can track your Leader Board rankings via the PokerStars Live app or on the PokerStars Live website.

Yes. If you play tournaments across different buy-ins, you can appear on multiple Leader Boards simultaneously.

No, only eligible PokerStars Live events count toward the Leader Boards.

If two or more players finish with the same number of Leader Board points, the winner will be determined by the highest finishing position in a Main Event.

Yes, you can win your seat to eligible PokerStars Live tournaments via online satellites.

  1. The PokerStars EPT 2025 tour shall consist of the following Events: (i) EPT Monte-Carlo; (ii) EPT Barcelona; and (iii) such other PokerStars EPT 2025 events that shall be announced by PokerStars throughout 2025.
  2. Events consist of: (i) the main event; and (ii) side events, with a real money (cash) buy-in (not including satellites), in each case at a PS Open and/or EPT 2025 Event, or the Irish Open 2025. Any PS Open 2025 and PokerStars EPT 2025 Events still to be announced will be included in the above list of Events when they are announced and details will be added to the PokerStars Live page here: https://www.pokerstarslive.com/.
  3. The PokerStars Live and PokerStars Live System Terms & Conditions located at https://www.pokerstarslive.com/tos/ apply to all players’ participation in the Events. Players will also be required to obtain a casino card to enter into the Event locations.

If a participating player is unable to produce such proof of age on request, they will be disqualified from the PokerStars Live League 2025 Rankings.
  5. PokerStars Live League 2025 Rankings points (“Points”) will be awarded to players participating in Events based upon the PokerStars Live League 2025 calculator in the PokerStars Live app, which can be downloaded here for Apple users: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pokerstars-live/id549121555,  and here for Android users: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.europeanpokertour.www&hl=en&gl=GB. Players participating in restricted tournaments (such as women-only and/or seniors-only tournaments) will also be eligible to be awarded Points. The formula to award Points in the PokerStars Live League 2025 calculator in the PokerStars Live app is in partnership and based on the GPI points system. Points will be awarded based on a player’s finishing position at the conclusion of a tournament.
  6. Players that finish in the money will earn Points based on their finishing position. For players who don’t finish in the money, Points are awarded at the rate of 20% the value of the min-cash points (the lowest points awarded to a player that receives a cash payout). For example, in a tournament with 1,000 entries, a $1,100 buy-in, and with 15% of the field paid (meaning the top 150 players will receive a cash payout), the player who finishes in 150th place (the first player to receive a min cash) will receive 76.09 GPI ranking points. All other players who finished outside of the paying places, i.e. 1,000th to 151st, they will receive 20% of that amount, which in this example would be 15.2 GPI ranking points.
  7. To win a prize from the PokerStars Live League 2025 Rankings, players must accumulate the highest number of Points with prizes being awarded to the 3 players with the highest number of Points in each of the 3 tiers at the end of the League after the PS Open 2025 and the PokerStars EPT 2025 tours, as well as the Irish Open 2025, have concluded. The League is split into 3 tiers according to the buy-in amount, as detailed below:

PokerStars will determine the winner of this Additional Prize at its sole discretion and its decision will be final. This Additional Prize will be subject to additional terms and conditions and the entering into of a separate contract with PokerStars. 5. Deal making: If players in an Event confer, negotiate and/or agree amongst themselves to alter, divide, share or distribute the prize pool payout for that Event in any manner other than as stipulated by PokerStars or the organiser/sponsor of the Event, then the Points for that Event will: (i) be awarded to players who receive a cash payout based on their finishing position at the Event; and (ii) be capped at the number of Points that would be awarded to the lowest ranked finishing position in receipt of a cash payout. By way of example only, if a deal to split the prize pool for an Event is made with 3 players remaining, all 3 players will receive Points for third place.
  6. If, at the end of the PS Open 2025 tour, PokerStars EPT 2025 tour and the Irish Open 2025 schedules, 2 or more players tie on Points in relation to any prize, then the tied player with the highest finishing position in a Main Event (EPT, PS Open or PS Open Cup) will win that prize. If more than one tied player has the same highest finishing position in a Main Event, then the tied player with the next highest finishing position in a Main Event will win the applicable prize. This process will be repeated until the winners of all 9 prizes have been determined.
  7. If a player believes there is a mistake in the Points awarded in the PokerStars Live League 2025 Rankings they should, at any time during the League and/or at the latest within 30 days of the prize winners being announced, send full details by email to: live@pokerstarslive.com with the subject heading “PokerStars Live League 2025 Rankings Correction”.
